Overview
CSSBite is a Chrome extension that extracts code from websites. Your privacy is our top priority. This policy explains what data CSSBite does and does not collect.
Data We Collect
None. CSSBite does not collect, store, transmit, or share any user data.
How CSSBite Works
- 100% Local Processing — All code extraction, formatting, and conversion happens entirely in your browser. No website content, extracted code, or any other data is ever sent to any external server.
- No Analytics — CSSBite contains no analytics scripts, tracking pixels, telemetry, or usage monitoring of any kind.
- No Cookies — CSSBite does not set, read, or use any cookies.
- No Network Requests — CSSBite makes zero network requests to any server. It only interacts with the current browser tab when you activate it.
Data Storage
CSSBite uses Chrome's local storage (chrome.storage.local) to save:
- Your settings (include children toggle, rem units toggle)
- Your component library (saved extractions)
- Your extraction history (last 50 extractions)
- Your theme preference (light/dark)
This data is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted anywhere. You can clear it at any time by removing the extension.
Permissions
CSSBite requests the minimum permissions required:
- activeTab — Read the content of the current tab only when you click the extension icon or use the keyboard shortcut. Does not run on any tab automatically.
- scripting — Inject the selector overlay and code extraction scripts into the current tab when activated.
- storage — Save your settings, component library, and extraction history locally.
- sidePanel — Display extraction results in a side panel.
Third-Party Services
CSSBite does not integrate with or send data to any third-party services. There are no ads, no affiliate links, and no sponsored content.
Pro Features (Coming Soon)
When Pro features launch, license key validation will require a one-time network request to verify your license. No website content or extracted code will be sent — only the license key for validation.
Children's Privacy
CSSBite does not collect any data from anyone, including children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
If we ever change our privacy practices, we will update this page. Since CSSBite collects no data, significant changes are unlikely.
